About the job

Red Hat's In-Vehicle OS Base Enablement team is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join us in Ireland and help build the first Red Hat In-Vehicle OS. In this role, you will learn all there is to know about how Red Hat builds and releases our operating system. You will have an opportunity to apply your love of tinkering with interesting hardware to a production quality operating system. The Base Enablement team leads the In-Vehicle OS research and development.

What you will do

  • Become familiar with Red Hat’s software productization processes
  • Learn programming languages like Python, Go, and Rust
  • Question the established processes for releasing software
  • Learn how functional safety impacts the process of developing, building, and packaging software
  • Regularly demo accomplishments to the development team

What you will bring

  • Experience with software development using languages like C, C++, Python, Go, or Rust
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • Passion for learning, both on your own and from others
  • Ability to work as a member of a global team with good written and verbal communication skills
